You make one simple mistake and it all goes downhill from there. Now you have no friends and you feel like you’re an “outcast.” Everyone looks at you differently and you can tell that their talking about you. Throughout the day you try to avoid having eye contact with anyone but yet you want to see if there is anyone that might have a more caring look on their face. After avoiding everyone all day you sit at home and think about how you would be hanging out with your friends if you hadn’t made that one mistake. Teenage alienation is something that will never change but it is something that needs to be stopped.
Nobody should feel isolated from others just because their different than them. When someone is being ignored because they are different it makes them feel like no one will ever care about them and that is one reason why there are kids and teens committing suicide. Not letting someone be with you and your friends just because you don’t like them is the same as bullying and it is one of the many things that is ruining our generation. If people keep picking on each other there will be more suicides, murders, and more people will start staying at home because they know that if they go out they will be teased.
Getting people to stop excluding others from their “clicks” will probably never happen but it should at least be prevented if possible. When kids feel like they are a “nobody” and they think that their lives don’t matter is when things start to go wrong. Everyone should have a friend to turn to and someone who will help them when they’re down. Telling someone about your feelings is a great thing to do but it isn’t always easy to tell an adult and it is way easier to express your emotions to your friends. Even if you don’t have a big group of friends it still makes a big difference than feeling like you’re always alone.
